Tribal Worldwide Philippines (Tribal) explores uncharted frontiers of the country’s digital landscape as it inks an open source partnership with technology giant Microsoft Philippines.
The partnership heralds Tribal’s commitment to engaging its clients and partners to explore with them the full potential of the ever-evolving digital world.
“When Tribal was born seven years ago, we had a single-minded mission to be at the forefront of creative innovations. It was a promise we made to our clients and to our people,” said Tribal managing partner Jonathan M. Chua.
“We are very excited to see where this partnership can take both companies. With them as our open source partner, Tribal is able to push the digital envelope with Microsoft’s wealth of marketing solutions. This partnership also gives our clients first crack at emerging technologies,” said Chua.
Tribal is a full-service, digitally centric advertising agency under the DDB Group Philippines. Founded in 2008, the company specializes in interactive marketing including digital campaigns, digital communication, websites, microsites, online videos, social media applications, and web banners.
Microsoft’s goal, on the other hand, is to go beyond the traditional and cultivate awareness of its breadth of products and services that can help clients bring their brands to greater heights.
“We hope that this opens your eyes to technology and what it can do for you and your brand. Microsoft is in the midst of an exciting transformation and leading what is already a Mobile First, Cloud First world, and we are proud to have a top digital agency like Tribal as a partner of our transformation journey,” said Microsoft platform strategy manager Jojo Ayson.
Digital Marketing and the Cloud
Microsoft recently hosted the Digital Marketing and the Cloud seminar for marketing practitioners at the Makati Shangri-La to present and discuss the benefits of using Microsoft Azure.
Microsoft Azure is an open, flexible, enterprise-grade cloud computing platform. It has a growing collection of integrated services such as analytics, computing, database, mobile, media, networking, storage, and web. As an open platform, Azure not only supports Microsoft-based solutions like Windows Server, SQL Server, and .NET-built applications, but also supports non-Microsoft and Open Source Software solutions built on Linux, MySQL, Hadoop, etc. as well as solutions written on PHP, JAVA, Python, Node.JS, etc.
“While Microsoft traditionally discusses these kinds of solutions with a company’s IT Staff, we also reach out directly to the company’s business users, in this case, the marketing department, and more specifically folks engaged in digital marketing. By doing so, we help discuss how the evolving technology landscape works and how it can work for them,” said Ayson.
Among the speakers were Microsoft developer experience and evangelism director Joel Garcia, Microsoft premier field engineer and Azure ranger Jayson Din, Tribal digital services head Ian Ong, Wunderman Manila chief technology officer EJ Arboleda, and Orchestrack chief executive officer Maria Unicka Sta. Ana. The speakers touched on several aspects of digital marketing including the changes in digital marketing trends, uses of cloud technology, and how it can be used to keep up with online demands.
Tribal has been using Microsoft Azure since 2014 to support the hosting requirements of many of its customers.
“It is a brave new world out there. Tribal is changing—evolving—so that we can take that step with our clients as they enter this diverse digital terrain,” added Chua.
